HFI High Flow Impactors

Built upon the same technology as MSP’s long-standing MOUDI™ impactors, high-flow impactors are ideal for investigating airborne particulate matter (PM) in pristine environments. Doing so provides valuable context for interpreting air quality research conducted in highly-polluted areas, such as densely-populated cities or in industrial centers. Taken together, these measurements contribute significantly to our understanding of how air quality affects public health.

A high sampling flow rate of 100 L/min shortens the sampling time needed for collecting enough particulate matter to successfully measure its mass and/or chemical composition. This high flow rate permits valid background data to be gathered up to ten times faster than would be possible using a conventional impactor, literally saving days in field measurement campaigns.

HFI High Flow Impactor 131B

The Model 131B is a high flow impactor (HFI) ideal for sampling particles at low concentrations (pristine environments), for collecting more mass per stage as compared with conventional MOUDI™ impactors, or for obtaining samples in shorter sampling intervals.
