Supermicron-Capable Particle Sizer Spectrometers

When your application requires measuring particle sizes above a micrometer, TSI has four options for you to consider. Our ‘supermicron-capable’ family of instruments includes optical and aerodynamic techniques for measuring particles in this size range. Whether you need real-time mass measurements, user-customizable size binning, or a size range that spans both below and above a micrometer, TSI has a sizing solution for you.

Aerodynamic Particle Sizer APS 3321

Measure aerodynamic particle size from 0.5 to 20 micrometers with the only sizer of its kind on the market. While cascade impactors also size particles by their aerodynamic diameter, the Aerodynamic Particle Sizer® (APS™) spectrometer offers high size resolution, one-second sampling, and real-time size distributions. Time-of-flight aerodynamic sizing determines the particle's behavior while airborne, and is unaffected by index of refraction or Mie scattering. Suitable for a variety of applications—inhalation toxicology, air monitoring, and drug delivery, plus many others—the APS continues to be used in new and interesting ways.

Optical Particle Sizer (OPS) 3330

Light, portable, and accurate measurement of particles 0.3 to 10 micrometers. Capable of measuring both particle concentration and particle size distribution as frequently as once per second (1 Hz), the Optical Particle Sizer (OPS) is a valuable tool in numerous applications, ranging from filter testing to industrial measurements. The OPS uses single particle counting technology to measure particles from 0.3 to 10 µm in 16 user adjustable size channels. The measured particles can also be collected on a built-in filter for further analysis. The instrument is battery powered for up to 20 hours, and its large color touchscreen is easy to use.

Laser Aerosol Spectrometer (LAS) 3340A

Conduct optical measurements of particles from 90 nm to 7.5 micrometers simultaneously. The Laser Aerosol Spectrometer (LAS) 3340A combines ultra-high sensitivity and superior resolution with ease-of-use. The LAS is an optical spectrometer that measures particle size distributions from 0.09 (90 nm) to 7.5 µm. The 100 size channels are configurable; this enables users to zero in on a specific size range, or to match the resolution of another instrument. The LAS 3340A is used in many different applications: determining the efficiency of air cleaners, HEPA/ULPA high efficiency filter testing, indoor/outdoor air quality studies, and source apportionment. Measure a complete size distribution in as little as one second.

Quartz Crystal Microbalance QCM MOUDI Impactor 140

Uses a first-principles technique to directly measure mass-based size distributions in real time.  The real-time Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) MOUDI™ Impactor combines two technologies – quartz crystal microbalance, and cascade impaction – to provide mass-based size distributions with rapid time response. This instrument has six QCM stages with sharp collection efficiency curves. Calibrated cutpoints for each of the six stages are 960, 510, 305, 156, 74 and 45 nm.
