MOUDI, which stands for Microorifice Uniform Deposit Impactor, is an instrument typically used to collect particles for aerosol sampling.

This 6-page paper looks at the ways researchers chemically analyze MOUDI Impactor samples to understand more about ambient aerosol composition and characterization. Examples include studying new particle formation, heavy metals, biomass burning, vehicle emissions, point sources, and other important contributions to human health and atmospheric chemistry research.

The following chemical analysis techniques are among those most commonly applied to aerosol composition and aerosol characterization work:
