In humid environments, hydroscopic aerosols absorb water and swell, resulting in larger signals which a photometer interprets as increased aerosol concentration. To correct this effect, a Heated Inlet Sample Conditioner has been designed to maintain a constant relative humidity level in the sample air stream before entering the DustTrak™ Environmental Monitor optics.
