Coordinating Air Quality Monitoring Responses for Wildfires

Coordinating Air Quality Monitoring Responses for Wildfires

Aug 04 2020 - Aug 04 2020 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Each year, wildfires emit tons of particulates and other pollutants that can cause serious health effects in people exposed to the smoke. In recent years, during severe smoke episodes caused by large or long duration wildfires in California, agencies have demonstrated teamwork in planning out the air quality support system needed during these incidents.

This webinar will cover how California, along with federal, tribal, local government agencies and other entities, respond to wildfire incidents by coordinating their efforts, including:

  • Mutual response planning protocols
  • Data collection and sharing
  • Air quality data and incident mapping available to the public
