Principles, Methods, and Instrumentation for Filter Testing

Join us for our 2023 Filtration Workshop which is designed for professionals who want to expand their knowledge and understanding of filter testing principles, methods, and instrumentation.

TSI employees will present on mask, media, and fractional filter testing with automated testers, as well as options for custom filtration setups. In addition, this year's workshop will include an optional introductory presentation on the basics of filter testing and a chance to see TSI's award-winning production-line Automated Filter Tester 8150.

The workshop will essentially feature three lab sessions on different topics, consisting mainly of hands-on exercises with the instruments to give participants the opportunity to experience filter testing first-hand:

1. Respiratory Masks and Media Testing:
   Using TSI’s Automated Filter Tester 8130A, learn how masks and media/filters of various shapes and sizes can be tested, how to identify good and bad results, investigate the root cause of bad results, and perform basic maintenance.


2. Fractional Efficiency Testing & Media Characterization for HEPA/ULPA:
   Using TSI’s Automated Filter Tester 3160, learn how to test media and filters with a range of controlled particle sizes, identify the most penetrating particle size (MPPS), assess results, and perform basic maintenance.


3. Custom Filter Testing with Component-Based Solutions:
   Get your hands on a variety of TSI Particle Sizers, Particle Counters and Aerosol Generators used to design custom filter testing setups. Learn about key factors for conditioning and sampling aerosol, data that can be obtained from different instruments, and which components are best suited for filtration standards or test methods.

This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone looking to expand their knowledge and gain hands-on experience with filtration instrumentation. Lunch will be provided, and registration is required.
