Pressure to reduce air pollution from vehicle emissions is driving regulatory changes in Europe and around the world.
In 2016, TSI began working with scientists and policy makers from Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Netherlands to develop a new testing instrument for Periodic Technical Inspections (PTI) programs. The motivation for this new instrument was to have a tool for rapidly verifying if diesel particulate filters (DPFs) are performing adequately during the life cycle of a vehicle and to identify high-polluting vehicles with defective DPFs.
