Managing Studies
Using the Study Finder Tool
When TrakPro Ultra is installed on a computer, it creates a database to store study data transferred from devices. The Study Finder tool provides a way to view the study database and it provides tools to help you organize them efficiently. The Study Finder can be opened by clicking the Home icon in the upper left corner of TrakPro Ultra.
Tips on study management
-
Study data acquired by TSI devices may be copied to your local TrakPro Ultra database. This then becomes a copy of the study that was stored on the instrument.
-
If TrakPro Ultra is installed on another computer, it will have its own independent database.
-
Keep in mind that if you delete a downloaded study from the device, other TrakPro Ultra computers will no longer be able to download it onto their computer.
-
You should regularly back up your TrakPro Ultra database. On Windows PC's the database is located in the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\TSI\trakproultra.
Managing Connected Devices
You can connect multiple devices simultaneously to TrakPro Ultra. The connection icon in the upper right corner will show how many devices are currently connected. If you click on the Device List, you will see the names of each of the devices. By default, a connected device will be selected in the Device List. But if you have a number of connected devices, you may wish to deselect some so that they do not clutter the Study List. Click the device icon to select/deselect it. Select All or None will perform the operation on all connected devices.
Managing Studies Stored on Devices
Each selected device has a collapsible header. Click the header to expand or collapse it. You can also click Expand All or Collapse All to change all connected instruments at once.
When a device is expanded, all its saved studies are displayed in a table under that device, sorted by Timestamp.
Saving Studies to TrakPro Database
To save a study to the TrakPro Ultra database, click the Three Dot icon next to the study and click Save to TrakPro. If the status icon has a green checkmark, there is no need to save the study. It already is stored in your TrakPro database.
In order to Analyze or Export a study, it will first need to be saved to your TrakPro database. See Analyzing Studies or Exporting Data for more information.
As studies are transferring the gray status icon starts to spin. When the transfer is complete, the status icon becomes a green checkmark. The number of studies that have been copied are also displayed in a purple badge next to the TrakPro tab.
Note: Saving studies to your TrakPro database does not delete them from the instrument.
Deleting Studies from Device
Studies may be deleted from device storage in TrakPro Ultra. Click the Three Dot icon next to the study and click Delete. You will then need to confirm that you wish to delete the studies.
When the study is deleted from the device, it will be removed from the study table in the Devices tab. But if you had already saved it to the TrakPro database, the study is still viewable in the TrakPro tab.
Managing Studies in TrakPro Database
Click on the TrakPro tab to access studies that have been saved to your local database. Managing them is similar to the way you manage studies stored on devices. You may delete studies by clicking the Three Dot icon.
