Cal-OSHA Issues Interim Guidance on COVID-19

Aug 19 2020 California

Cal-OSHA has released Interim Guidance on COVID-19 during this time of severe respirator shortages. Among the additional guidance, Cal-OSHA now allows for the use of Federal OSHA’s Modified CNC Respirator Fit Test Protocols in healthcare and all other workplaces affected by respirator shortages during the pandemic.

The modified fit test protocols require fewer, shorter exercises and greatly reduce test time without compromising safety. Total fit test time for qualifying instruments is reduced to less than two and a half minutes.
