Shoreview, MN—In December, TSI Incorporated delivered the first shipment of military-grade respirator testing systems to the U.S. Army.
The shipment of 420 units is part of an ongoing commitment to fulfill TSI's $13 million order from the Army, as announced in summer of 2017.
TSI engineers designed PortaCount 8020M PATS products to test the performance and fit of military CBRN respirator masks. CBRN stands for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear. Modern CBRN masks can provide a high degree of protection if:
A military-grade CBRN mask is capable of providing a high level of protection factor, but that level can drop to potentially unsafe levels without proper use, sizing, and fit.
"Knowing that our products can help American military personnel to better protect themselves is very satisfying," said TSI Business Director Troy Tillman. "We're excited to be working with the U.S. Armed Forces and proud to ship the first set of the PortaCount 8020M products. A big team at TSI was involved in engineering and manufacturing this product. Everyone on the team was proud to be part of completing this program and send off our first shipment."
