A New Micro Bubble Generator for Producing Air Filled Soap Bubbles as Tracers for PIV in Wind Tunnel Applications

Advances in 3D Particle Tracking: Algorithmic Improvements to Volumetric Velocimetry

This webinar will discuss the methods used in TSI's INSIGHT™ V3V-4G software to extract volumetric velocity information from a three-dimensionally illuminated region of a flow field. Additionally, algorithms designed to improve the positional accuracy and vector yield will be discussed. Real data acquired from TSI's V3V-Flex system will be used in a number of examples. Investigating Turbulent Boundary Layer Flow Structures Using 4-Camera Volumetric PIV

This webinar will focus on turbulent boundary layer structure measurements, taken by a 4-camera volumetric PIV system, elucidating the development of turbulent hairpin vortices. Four high-pixel resolution cameras, each with 8 million pixels, were employed to capture high spatial resolution measurements. An Nd:YAG pulse laser with 380 mJ energy per pulse illuminated the measurement volume. The complete volumetric flow was captured with the system, providing instantaneous and time-averaged u, v and w velocity components. Flow quantities including iso-surfaces of vorticity described the development of the hairpin forces.
