Quality control with LIBS materials identification

Sample prepared for laser induced breakdown spectroscopyA TSI team is preparing to exhibit at the 33rd Control conference in Stuttgart. This major event brings together quality engineers, quality techicians, QA/QC Managers, and other quality professionals from around the world. We hope to connect with friends and customers of TSI at Control 2019 and meet new ones. If you're part of Control, see us in Hall 7 - Stand 7423.

Among our instruments at #Control19 will be laser induced breakdown spectroscopy—or LIBS—tools. LIBS is a spectroscopic technique that uses laser-generated plasma to ablate and excite a sample, usually in solid form. Emissions generated from the plasma can be used to identify, sort, and classify materials. An algorithm turns the resulting spectra into qualitative results (e.g. positive material identification or PMI) and quantitative results (e.g. the concentration of a particular element in the sample.)

Can LIBS analyze and verify your materials?

TSI LIBS products are a radiation-free method to verify incoming materials and perform positive material identification. Our experts and customers have used LIBS to analyze glass, pharmaceutical products, electronics and electronics waste, gems and gemology, coal and stone, metals and alloys, and more materials.

Visit the new LIBS Resources page to browse articles, case studies, and application notes on using LIBS technology to analyze, identify, and verify materials.
