Phase Doppler System: Methods for Characterization of Sprays and Principle

Oct 08 2020 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (CDT) Webex Webinar

A TSI webinar with special guest speaker Chris Brown, Research Manager of Energy Research Consultants, Irvine, California

DESCRIPTION

The experimental characterization of sprays involves many measurement techniques depending upon the information sought. The spray itself is comprised of several regions, starting with the internal flow of the atomizer, droplet interaction with and transport by the gas phase, evaporation, and/or chemical transformation of the material by processes such as combustion. Measurement techniques provide information about the spray from a global perspective but yield highly detailed quantitative information.

The technique of Phase Doppler diagnostic has been a standard method for measuring size and velocity for spray. The principle of Phase Doppler will be discussed in detail.
