The Inhaled Dissolution Apparatus (IDA) is a dedicated platform designed specifically for dissolution testing of orally inhaled and nasal drug products (OINDPs), addressing a longstanding challenge in inhalation product characterization. The IDA provides a purpose-built workflow that captures aerosolised drug particles and enables controlled, repeatable dissolution profiling. It offers meaningful insights into product performance that support formulation development, quality control, and regulatory submissions.
At the heart of the system is a streamlined three-step workflow—Collect, Transfer, Dissolve—which integrates sample capture, direct transfer into the dissolution setup, and profiling under consistent conditions.
Designed to support in vitro performance assessment where traditional methodologies fall short, the IDA helps bridge gaps in understanding how inhaled particles dissolve after deposition, providing valuable data for comparing formulations and improving in vitro–in vivo correlations (IVIVC).
