What is IEQ?

Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) refers to the quality of a building’s environment associated to the health of occupants within it. Taking many factors in consideration, IEQ can be determined through human health, comfort, performance, and energy efficiency. Certain illnesses and symptoms affect workers when a building’s environment is inadequate.

Determining which contaminants are responsible for suspected building-related conditions can be challenging at times. TSI is committed to a better world – providing solutions to help protect people and environments.

Taking the steps to better understand the sources of indoor environmental quality contaminants and learning the steps to control them can help avoid or resolve building-related symptoms in staff.

Human Health

Protecting the health of occupants and workers is paramount to any business.

  • Occupational hazards such as exposure to dust, gases, heat, and noise
  • Minimizing the transmission of diseases and infectious agents
  • Long-term health impact of poor indoor environmental quality (IEQ)

Human Comfort

Whether you are managing an office space, educational facility, retail or entertainment facility, the occupants’ comfort can impact their experiences and attitudes.

  • Thermal comfort
  • Lighting comfort
  • Sound comfort
  • Indoor air quality (IAQ)

Human Performance

People want to perform at their best. Some IEQ conditions may be impacting their performance – indoors and outdoors.

  • Increased alertness and attention to quality
  • Improved decision making
  • Increased test scores
  • Reduced absenteeism

Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is a goal for virtually all building owners and managers. Managing costs is a critical aspect, while balancing environmental quality for the occupants.

  • Sustainability
  • Cost savings
