Respiratory Filter Testing
Validating and certifying respirator filter and filter media performance
Respirators are worn to protect the wearer from inhaling dangerous material. These respirators can be disposable, single-use face masks, powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs), or robust models with replaceable cartridges and higher protection ratings. All of these devices need their performance validated and certified before use.
Filter testing for respirator filters
The Automated Filter Tester 8130A contains everything that is needed to test media and filters. It can generate salt or oil test aerosol and uses high sensitivity photometers to determine the filtration efficiency or penetration. The pressure drop is measured with a top-of-the-line pressure transducer. Different cartridge geometries can be accommodated with custom filter chuck designs; please contact us for details.
Maintenance is minimal and (also due to user-serviceable photometers) can be performed on-site when it doesn’t impact production or testing schedules. With the different aerosol choices just one unit is needed to test your product to US 42 CFR 84, GB2626, JMOL, EN 143, ISO 16900-3, ISO 23328-1, and more.
