1. Customer Input Review
We first review any written instructions or problems that the customer has reported. Understanding the customer's specific concerns allows our technicians to focus on potential problem areas and provide tailored solutions.
2. Initial Inspection and Testing
The process begins with a thorough inspection of the instrument. Our service team conducts performance verification tests to assess the current condition of the equipment. This ensures that any underlying issues or performance deviations are identified before proceeding with the calibration.
3. As Found Calibration – for selected TSI instruments
On applicable units, normally TSI Test and Measurement and Contamination Control devices, TSI will perform an As Found Calibration when possible, which will measure the accuracy of the unit as it’s been received by TSI.
This process measures the device against its published specs resulting in an AS Found calibration certificate that will be provided to the customer.
4. Factory Cleaning and Calibration
Once the initial inspection is complete, the actual cleaning and calibration process begins. Here’s what it includes:
- Instrument Cleaning: Dust, debris, and other contaminants can affect the accuracy of an instrument. A thorough cleaning ensures the instrument is free from these factors.
- Consumable Component Inspection and Replacement: Components that wear out over time are inspected and replaced if necessary, ensuring the instrument remains in optimal working condition.
- Leak Check (if applicable): For instruments where air or gas flow is essential, a leak check is performed to ensure there are no issues that could affect measurements.
- Calibration Procedures:
- Gas Sensor Calibration (if applicable): Gas sensors are span-calibrated to ensure they accurately detect the correct concentrations.
- Flow Rate, Voltage, and Temperature Calibration: These parameters are calibrated according to TSI’s standard procedures to guarantee precise and consistent measurements.
- Software/Firmware Updates: as part of the process, usually the instrument's software and/or firmware are updated if necessary, keeping it aligned with the latest standards.
- Zero Check (if applicable): This ensures that the instrument is properly reset to a zero baseline.
5. Final Validation
The final step is a functional checkout and performance validation, ensuring the instrument functions within factory specifications.
6. Calibration Certificate and Support
Once the process is complete, the customer receives a certificate, confirming that the instrument is fully functional and calibrated to meet factory standards. In addition, TSI provides ongoing technical support throughout the term of the service agreement, ensuring any questions or issues are promptly addressed.
