TSI® Introduces New Compact Catalytic Vapor Filter to Eliminate Unpleasant Exhaust Vapor

TSI® is thrilled to announce the launch of our new product, the Compact Catalytic Vapor Filter CCVF100 which works with all TSI® butanol and isopropyl alcohol Condensation Particle Counters (CPCs).

While alcohol CPCs are essential instruments in various fields (such as ambient air monitoring, aerosol research, and cleanroom monitoring), they come with an inherent challenge: the exhaust from these devices contain residual hydrocarbon vapors. These vapors, apart from having unpleasant odors, could contaminate sensitive work environments, or interfere with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) or hydrocarbon sensors nearby.

Designed to Tackle the Exhaust Vapor Challenge

The Compact Catalytic Vapor Filter CCVF100 has been designed to tackle challenges with exhaust vapor. By nearly eliminating the hydrocarbon vapors (over 99.99% reduction) emitted from the CPCs, it ensures a clean environment around the instruments.

Operating on a principle similar to an automobile's catalytic converter, the Compact Catalytic Vapor Filter oxidizes the alcohol vapor effluent from CPCs, converting it into harmless CO₂ and H₂O gas. Since the device is self-regulating and self-cleaning, there is no need to send in for service or purchase consumable parts, unlike charcoal filters that quickly run out of storage capacity and require regular replacement and special disposal procedures.
