Remote Monitoring with the dBadge2 Series

Traditional noise dosimetry often requires the safety manager to physically interact with the device on the worker's shoulder to check battery life, verify it’s running, or view current readings. This can be disruptive to the worker and impractical in challenging environments. The dBadge2™ Noise Dosimeter solves this challenge with integrated Bluetooth® 4.0 technology. By pairing the devices with the Airwave app on a mobile phone or tablet, safety professionals can view the status of multiple dosimeters from a distance. You can confirm that monitoring is active and view cumulative data without ever having to stop the worker, helping to maintain productivity while capturing essential safety data.

Intelligent Features for Complex Environments

The dBadge2 is available in multiple models to suit various needs, including a standard model for compliance, a 'Plus' model with audio recording, and a 'Pro' model with octave band analysis.

  • Audio Notes and Recording: The audio recording feature triggers when programmable limits are exceeded, allowing you to listen back and determine what caused a noise spike. This helps validate data and rule out anomalies.
  • Motion Sensor: To ensure data integrity, a built-in motion sensor logs whether the device was actually worn during the measurement period, helping to avoid false negatives from a device left sitting on a desk.
  • Intrinsic Safety: For environments with explosive atmospheres, such as oil and gas facilities or chemical plants, Intrinsically Safe (IS) versions of the dBadge2 are available, designed to meet rigorous safety standards for use in hazardous zones.

Simplified Data Management

The value of the dBadge2 extends beyond the hardware. The accompanying data analysis software provides a powerful platform for managing your hearing conservation data. It allows for quick generation of reports that are easy to interpret and share. With the ability to simulate different hearing protection attenuation based on the captured Octave Band data, the software assists in the selection of appropriate PPE. This targeted approach helps ensure that workers are adequately protected against the specific noise frequencies present in their environment. By combining remote connectivity, advanced measurement capabilities, and intuitive reporting, the dBadge2 helps organizations implement a more proactive and efficient approach to noise control.
