Seeing is Believing. Making the Invisible Visible.

Air pollution isn't always visible. Tiny airborne particles like PM2.5 (more than 100 times thinner than a human hair) are especially dangerous because they can penetrate deep into the lungs and potentially cause acute and/or chronic health effects.

Pollution can affect air quality across a region or city, but can also be localized to a community, neighborhood, or even a single building. Hyperlocal air quality may be very different from the regional AQI reported by regulatory or governmental agencies, such as the Central Pollution Control Board website.

Air Quality Questions

People with air quality concerns are often looking for answers to questions like these:

  • What happens to the air quality on my street during rush hour?
  • What are the effects of idling vehicles and heavy traffic on local roads?
  • What are my children breathing as they walk through the neighborhood to or from school?
  • Is the town refinery or power plant contributing to pollution in my community?
  • Is toxic dust from construction sites or cleanup projects escaping beyond the worksite?
  • How bad is the smoke from nearby fires?
  • Should my family limit their time outside today?
