TSI Incorporated, a global leader in data-driven solutions, brings to market an ultra-lightweight (36g) bodily worn exposure monitor, the TSI OmniWear Noise™ Dosimeter. This small and robust noise monitoring device, capable of measuring all workplace noise parameters simultaneously, has been designed to be an unobtrusive yet exceptionally accurate tool for workplace noise assessment. This product is available in UK and Europe.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 16% of hearing loss globally is attributed to occupational noise exposure.1 Noise monitoring is essential to understand the exposure levels and risks to employees in the workplace. Wearable dosimeters in particular offer the unique benefit of analysing an individual’s dynamic exposure throughout a working day.
With one button operation and an all-weather IP65 rating, the OmniWear Noise™ Dosimeter is a user friendly noise monitor designed for rapid deployment to all workplaces. The dosimeter is designed to be simple to operate and report data for those who may have not used noise dosimeters before.
The OmniWear Noise™ Dosimeter has a maximum 16-hour run time, ideal for complete shift exposure measurements, allowing employers to monitor the exact level of noise experienced by wearers. The device can also be used for specific task measurements, defining working areas or employees that may require hearing protection.
Exposure limits are averaged across an eight-hour working day, the OmniWear Noise™ Dosimeter calculates and displays this average in plain text via an app for employers to easily quantify noise levels for compliance purposes.
The app is available on both Apple and Android devices and can control and monitor up to 20 devices simultaneously, via Bluetooth, without interruption to the user. Offering real time data collection and a post run reporting, employers can track periods of excessive exposure and act to minimize risk to wearers.
Ketan Mehta, Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing said: “The OmniWear Noise™ Dosimeter is perfect for health and safety practitioners new to noise dosimetry, combining intuitive use with accurate noise measurement. The light and robust design guarantees low body burden for the wearer and when used in conjunction with our control and monitoring App, the OmniWear Noise™ Dosimeter allows you to perfectly capture the important noise data you need.”
Paired with a CEL-120 calibrator that offers a one touch automatic calibration, the OmniWear Noise™ Dosimeter can offer convenient and assured accuracy in the field.
