MSP's Advanced Inhalation Test Practices Seminar

Marriott Hotel, Raleigh, N.C., June 6, 2019

MSP's 2019 Techniques for Advanced Inhalation Testing Workshop

Jun 06 2019 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday Marriott Hotel at Research Triangle Park, 4700 Guardian Drive, Durham, NC 27703

Come learn advanced testing tricks and techniques from the experts! MSP, a division of TSI, will be hosting a one day, FREE of charge event for anyone interested in furthering their understanding of current and upcoming trends in OINPD (Orally Inhaled and Nasal Drug Products) testing and analytics.

We are especially looking for scientists or technicians who have general familiarity with using the NGI and related hardware, but want to begin to think about the future and how the use of newer techniques can both save both money and time while also provide better data that allows for drug development.

Please note that this workshop is provided on a first come, first served basis as space is limited - so register early!

Details

MSP experts and engineers, as well as a guest speaker from Copley Scientific, will present four sessions throughout the day: AIM Method (Abbreviated Impactor Measurements), IV-IV-c (In Vitro-In Vivo-Correlation), Automation Options, and a hands-on workshop.

Topics Topic Explanation
AIM Method
(Abbreviated Impactor Measurements Method)
The FDA efforts to reduce overall drug costs push some of the burden to improve the efficiency in drug formulation and analytical testing. There have been several publishings recently on different AIM methodologies, including from the FDA. This session will cover principles of cascade impaction, the practice of reduced cascade collection and how to effectively accomplish these techniques with tips and tricks to doing so while still collecting the needed information on the drug size distribution.
IV-IV-c
(In Vitro-In Vivo-Correlation)
This session is an introduction to the growing industry trend of testing inhalation pharmaceuticals under more realistic patient conditions. This includes the ability to create more realistic breathing profiles, as well as more anatomically correct features, and the direction and limitations of such testing.
Automation Philosophies

Automating your processes when possible helps to reduce cost, increase consistency and reliability, and allow lab analysts more time to devote to higher value work. This session is an introduction to automation philosophies at different stages of development and tips to transfer methodologies across companies/departments through acquisitions, partnerships, and other mechanisms.

Working Session Time to ask the experts! This is an open working session with hands-on opportunities driven by your interest. So bring your questions, concerns, and ideas.
